Rime: The Denuvo Story.

Image
So, Rime is a game that was relatively anticipated. With its team ICO style gameplay and vibrant colour pallet it seemed like a game that would be a delightfully calm and intriguing experience. Despite this people were talking more about the games DRM polices than the game itself. So let's begin with what the developers said that stirred so many people up the wrong way. Near release the developers made a statement regarding the game and its use of DRM. The developers made a post that said “ Rime is a very personal experience told through both sight and sound. When a game is cracked, it runs the risk of creating issues with both of those items, and we want to do everything we can to preserve this quality in Rime .” This alone is a strange statement to make. In no way could Denuvo or any other form of DRM actually make a difference to the way the game plays beyond maybe tampering the performance. All they do is lock the game behind a licence, they don't add to the sigh...

Little Nightmares Review | Fat And Old People Are Scary.

Image
So, Little Nightmares has been out for a little while now and I didn’t hear much about it personally. I did however only hear good things. People claiming the game will bring out fears you never realized you had, bringing back the fear you once felt when you were a child. So I finally got the game and jumped on in, as somebody who doesn’t scare easily I was hoping to really feel something I haven’t felt from a game since Silent Hill 2. I feeling of fear and dread that haunts me even when I stop playing the game. This review will be from somebody that doesn’t scare easily as previously stated and I will do my best to stay away from spoilers but the world thinks the fact you move from room to room could be a spoiler these days so be warned. If you want a completely and utterly spoiler free review… buy the game. Now, the game starts out much like Limbo or last years Inside (Both fantastic games you should go pick up now by the way) and has you just kind of awaken. You ar...

Firewatch Review. - All Along The Watchtower..

Image
Firewatch, at first glance it's another boring walking simulator. A term that has been used countless times now, and not without good reason. Some of these games send you off into a areas where you have near to no interaction with objects or people and just have the story narrated to you. Firewatch isn't that while at the same time.. It really is that. Firewatch begins with a sad story of the protagonist (henry) dealing with his significant other gaining early stages of dementia and then dealing with the mental issues that come with the struggle of living with someone in that condition. The game then throws you into its colourful, stylized world made up of lush forest vistas contrast with barren desert panoramas. Henry makes his way up to his watch tower to find a walkie talkie that has only one person on the other end. Dahlia, dahlia is someone who is up on a hill watching over the watchers. She is the main line of contact for the firewatchers to the outside world. As ...

Mortal Kombat X Is Abandoned on PC!

Image
Warner Bros have had a horrific way of showing love to their PC game sales. Mortal kombat X came out in a horrible state to begin with and then had a game breaking bug that caused your save file to be deleted after updating the game. After the disgraceful port of mortal kombat x we were greeted with the beyond unforgiving port of Arkham Knight. Both games months after released were finally in a better state but the network code of MKX and the performance of Arkham Knight is still horrendous. So with the horrible ports of last year that they gave us, some people may have given up on Warner Bros. For those of you that didn't and actually fought through the bugs and problems and found a way to enjoy the two games you may have seen the initial trailers for the Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack 2. This pack was looking to be incredibly fun. It was going to give players the chance to fight as leatherface with his badass chainsaw as he cuts open his opponents while wearing ...

Denuvo Is The End Of Piracy! And Here's Why.

Image
PLEASE NOTE! This article is out of date and incorrect now. Denuvo was in fact cracked and was far from the end of piracy. However, the post does still have some good information on Denuvo itself and what was happening at the time so will remain posted. So denuvo is slowly taking over our beloved triple A games and it's causing pirates of said games a lot of problems. Now if you don't know what denuvo is or even DRM. Well.. “The purpose of DRM(Digital Rights Management) is to prevent unauthorized redistribution of digital media and restrict the ways consumers can copy content they've purchased.” what this basicly means for your average PC gamer is this. Say you buy a game on steam, steam then puts that game in a room. You can't play that game unless you have the key for the door. If you have the key, you can get in there and play it. If you don't. You simply can't play the game. With cracked games, a lot of the time they will be able to emulate that ...

"London calling to the faraway frowns" - Assassins Creed: Syndicate PC Review.

Image
So, after the controversial, technical mess that was Assassin's creed unity on every platform. Has Syndicate wrote Unity’s wrongs? Yes! The problems you found with unity are gone. But, does the game fix the bad changes to the Assassin's Creed formula within the last few years? No. And here’s a review and why I think that that’s OK. So first of all, let's start with the setting. It's London in 1868. Right in the heart of a industrial revolution and the game really feels like it. The gritty, damp back alleys serve as a breeding ground for the gangs festering the city. The main roads are large and filled with carriages owned by the upper class that runs the city. And the Thames brimming with dirty polluted water and steam powered boats full of cargo from overseas. The amount of detail put into making this game feel like a industrial era of London is astonishing. Everything from the beautiful detail in the buildings to the sound effects keep y...
